These past two summers of living in NYC has given me plenty of opportunities to explore Manhattan, but lately I've been trying to explore new territories. Since my love for gardens is not so secret, my friend suggested I visit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden before the end of the summer. The "garden" was much bigger than I had expected and included a rose garden, desert pavilion, Japanese garden, and many other beautiful greenhouses similar to the Planting Fields Arboretum. I would definitely love to come back in the spring to see the rows of cherry blossom trees in full bloom!
What: 52 acres of botanical respite from Manhattan's skyscrapers
Where: Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Wear: I wore a a lightweight white cotton Club Monaco dress, straw boater, and these comfortable SOREL Joanie lace wedge sandals.

Tyro Tip: My friend and I went on a Saturday right before noon when the garden is actually free to guests!
