Travel Tyro: Central Park Conservatory Garden

Central Park is and always will be the heart of NYC itself. With over 840 acres of land in the middle of Manhattan, it's like a city in itself. From joggers to tourists, row boats, a zoo, and everything in between, there's an endless amount of activities during all seasons of the year. While most of the action happens at the lower end of Central Park, there's an often overlooked beautiful garden far uptown on 105th Street.

The Conservatory Garden was created in 1934 to replace the glass conservatory that once stood there. The garden is divided into three parts with French, Italian, and English styles and a beautiful wrought iron gate at the entrance which once belonged to the Vanderbilt Mansion on 5th Avenue. If you're looking for a quiet respite from the city, this is the perfect place to bring a book and relax.
