Fashion Tyro: On the Steps of the Met

"But if I had to choose a single destination where I'd be held captive for the rest of my time
in New York, I'd choose the Metropolitan Museum of Art."
—Tim Gunn

Recently, I wore this outfit for a night out in the city and was stopped by two older ladies on the street. I had imagined they were going to ask for directions, but instead remarked how much they loved my outfit and had crossed the street just to tell me so. The genuine and unexpected compliment was touching enough, but then they remarked how very "New York" I looked.
I knew then that there was no better place to document my NY street style than the steps of the Met.

There are countless places in NYC that will always be special to me, but nothing will ever compare to the Met. I have many fond memories of visiting the city throughout my lifetime, but by far my favorite and most treasured always include this special place. Even now, I never tire of days spent wandering the galleries. From fashion to Roman sculptures and everything in between, there is something magical about being surrounded by so many beautiful things from all over the world from past and present— just like NYC itself.
