The best part about New England in the winter is the close proximity to endless skiing and snowboarding. Recently, I finally made it up to Killington for the day and was blown away by the striking views at 4,241 feet up. While there wasn't as much snowfall this year, there were still plenty of trails up and running; however, I guess I'll have to wait until next year to try my hand at tubing!
What: Skiing, snowboarding, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, and of course, hanging out and people watching in the lodge at one of the biggest ski resorts in New England
Where: Killington, Vermont
Wear: Lots and lots of layers and a wind and waterproof jacket made for negative degree temps. Also, these SOREL boots were perfect! I didn't even have to wear thick socks and my feet were warm and toasty the entire time!
When: Winter, although there's plenty of activities to do in the summer as well!
Why: Every ski enthusiast's dream with 92 combined miles of trails and every après-ski enthusiast's ideal atmosphere.
Tyro Tip: The Bloody Mary at the Peak Lodge were insanely good. Just don't drink and ski.
