Since freshman year, the Head the Charles has been my favorite event of the fall semester. As the biggest regatta in the world, there's always an influx of people from around the world in town for the weekend and Boston usually shows off with some prime sweater weather and beautiful fall foliage. I always wake up to the sound of the announcers and coxswains yelling outside my window and often head down to the docks on the Esplanade to watch the start of race with friends right by our BU Boathouse. This year, I could watch the race right outside my window, but the prime place to watch the race is really right at Harvard. There's nothing quite like the crowds cheering on their family, friends, and college/alma mater and seeing all of the impeccably dressed preps.
