"You can take the girl out of New England, but you can't take New England out of the girl."
While there's plenty of good seafood restaurants around the city, I'd been dying for somewhere with a taste (and aesthetic) equal to New England. Turns out, I didn't have to go much further than the Tribeca for my New England fix!
The Grand Banks is an old 142' wooden schooner docked down on Pier 25. While it's striped yellow awnings and Hudson River views are enough to make you coo, the food and drinks are equally as "wicked awesome" as the setting. The atmosphere literally feels like a party on a boat with lots of Yuppies, Polo button downs, and Jack Rogers sandals on deck. While most people come for the cocktails (my friend/Big in my fraternity, Michael, and I enjoyed the Yacht Club and the Sherman's Cup), the hour long wait for a table is well worth it for the lobster roll and oysters alone!
Who: Co-workers, friends, boyfriends, and everything in between.
Where: Pier 25 in Tribeca
Wear: Dressy casual. Note: This is an actual boat, therefore, it does rock
so I dont' suggest high heels.
When: Head there before sunset to enjoy the sunset and nighttime lights!
Why: If you love waterfront views, boats, and New England fare, you've hit the jackpot.
Tyro Tip: They don't except reservations so it's first come, first served!
