I'm not sure if it's the tiny bite-sized fare, the delightful aesthetic, or the excuse to put on your best
dress, but I love afternoon tea. While high tea is often a girly affair (evidenced by tea at Brambles and Laudurée), I have fond memories of visiting the Plaza for high tea with my dad on a trip to NYC years ago. Luckily, my friend, David, is a avid tea drinker (and good sport) and joined me for afternoon tea at Bergdorf Goodman.
On my list of things to do for years, it was quite a thrill to finally sit in those famous bird cage chairs with sweeping views of Central Park. Although totally indulgent, it was the perfect little "treat yourself" luxury on an overcast New York day.
