Rowayton Residences

Only forty miles away on the Metro North sits the charming coastal Connecticut town of Rowayton. A 1.4 mile long peninsula that connects into the Long Island Sound, File Mile River, and Farm Creek, the town is known for its quaint strip of shops and restaurants down the Five Mile River (more on that in another post), but Rowayton's truly a residential hotspot that offers beautiful waterfront views, public beaches, and delightful little cottages and houses worth strolling by on a leisurely afternoon– exactly what my friend and I did during the July 4th weekend. There's quite a mixture of houses teeming with sweeping balconies, Nantucket-style shingle exteriors, blooming bushes of hydrangeas, and of course, an abundance of nautical details Ã  la weather vanes, hanging buoys, and American flags. Rowayton offered quite literally the "picture perfect" escape from the concrete jungle Stay tuned for more of my quick jaunt!
