During my short visit home, I spent some time in Miami and stopped by the Wynwood Walls which was once a rough area in need of revitalization. To make use of the area's large warehouses, the Wynwood Walls were born. Now home to art work by some of the world's greatest graffiti and street artists, Wynwood has seen a sort of artistic renaissance. Over 80,000 square feet of walls have been covered by art in addition to tons of art galleries and restaurants lining the streets. I loved seeing the variety of styles and colors flood the area from the walls to the garage doors, and even the sidewalks, but I especially enjoyed seeing another piece by Maya Hayuk, whose work I first saw at the Houston Bowery Wall in NYC last year.
I definitely recommend stopping by Wynwood Walls if you're ever in Miami.
