On Island Time

During my last week at home, I took a quick day trip to Sanibel Island, a barrier island on the Gulf Coast. Known for its clear aqua water, array of sea shells, beachside wildlife preserves, and 120 year old lighthouse. The Sanibel Island Lighthouse was once the entrance of an important port during the Spanish-American War and while it isn't open to visitors today, it marks a beautiful spot on the island where wild mangroves meet the open sea.
