Captivated By the Sea

It's been a glorious week at home in Florida; I truly can't remember the last time I had an empty planner with zero deadlines or places to be. Being back on the beaches at home has been truly refreshing and relaxing for the soul. While Boston has its own beautiful sea towns and beaches, nothing can quite compare to the intimate, tropical scenery on the beautiful Captiva Island. My favorite Florida beach, I wrote a blog post about my trip last year to Captiva and Sanibel Island (I'll have another one comping up soon). After a pretty rough winter of Snowpocalypse and a serious bout of bronchitis for over a month (seriously), I am reminded, again, that nothing can truly compare to the blue skies, 90 degree temperatures, and white sandy beaches at home in Florida. I may be a Big City Tyro, but I am and always will be an aficionado when it comes to the Floridian seaside. This year's visit was even more meaningful too because I won't be home this summer for the first time (more on that later)...
