Mt. Washington

A few weeks ago, I was supposed to travel back to NYC to help with another NYFW show, but snowpocalypse got in the way and busted froze those plans (update: Boston is only 5.6 inches off to beating its record snowfall). While disappointed, my friend and I decided to take a spontaneous trip to Mt. Washington before the blizzard hit New England. Not typically a spontaneous person, I never imagined I'd plan a trip eight hours in advance, but Mt. Washington has been on my bucket list for a long time.

As if planning such a getaway wasn't enough of a thrill, the mountains were even more breathtaking in person than I had imagined. We spent the day at Omni Mt. Washington Resort wandering the charming grounds, eating quite a luxurious brunch, and nordic skiing. Skiing is something I have wanted to do for years. I can't wait to try alpine skiing someday, but it was so beautiful skiing around their summer golf course and in some of the wooden areas as if I were visiting the set of a movie. Even though it was -10 degrees, I could have stayed out all afternoon...
