Woman to Watch: Maysoon Zayid

When I have free time, a bad day, need a little advice, or a boost of inspiration and
empowerment, I look no further than Ted Talks. Maybe it's partially because I don't
have cable in my dorm, but I've watched far more Ted Talks than tv during winter break!

Recently, the most touching and inspiring talk I watched was Maysoon Zayid.
Maysoon has an sparkling sense of humor (doesn't she remind you of Sandra Bullock?!!),
became one of the first stand up comics in the Arab world, has worked to positively change the
image of Arab-Americans in social media, and overcame Cerebral Palsy- in addition to walking (in heels!). Maysoon gives one of the funniest, inspiring, and hopeful Ted Talks I have ever watched. Although it might sound clique, but she truly proves that anything is possible if you believe in yourself

Maysoon hopes to diminish the stigma associated with people with disabilities in entertainment,
the media, and in everyday life. She is not just an inspiration to people with disabilities or of Arabic descent, but everyone and anyone.

She is a reminder that our attitude can control how we truly live our lives.
