Her Campus College Fashion Week

Last Friday, I got the chance to sit VIP at Her Campus College Fashion Week in
Boston! I honestly didn't know what to expect, but it was one of my highlights of my
blogging experience so far!

If you haven't noticed the new icon on my homepage, I am now officially a member of the Her Campus Blogging Network! In case you haven't heard, Her Campus is the leading online community for women where over 3,000 contributors lend their writing skills and expertise to discuss
the lifestyle of a collegiette. I know our school is one of over 200 campus chapters, but even if your school doesn't have one, become sign up to be a member of their online community to receive awesome newsletters, surveys, giveaways, and scholarships!

What I really love about Her Campus, the story behind its success.
Founded by three Harvard graduates in 2009, the three friends have committed
so much passion and hard work to make Her Campus the successful business and
multi-platform brand it is today. They've gone on to win numerous awards and accolades
such as BusinessWeek's 25 Under 25 Best Young Entrepreneurs, The Boston Globe's 25 Under 25,
and Forbe's lists of the top 100 websites for women and top 10 websites for millenials. The brand has become such a huge success in such a short amount of time; I truly admire all three co-founders and how they followed their dreams so they could do what they loved.

Above, I got to meet one of the founders, Windsor Hanger. She was so nice and a great emcee that night as well. Make sure to follow her on Twitter!

The show was truly a great time for all. The fashion was designed to show a day in the life
of a collegiette starting with a Work Out, Go to Class? I am Class!, Internship, Twerk it, and finally
Twerk or Treat for Halloween. It was great to see a variety of girls from local chapters model real outfits we would all actually wear and could afford. There wasn't any crazy high priced couture out of our college budgets and there were outfits that matched everyone's personal style! The event ended being like a big collegiate party that I can't wait to attend next year!

In between acts, Boston University's acapella group, The Dear Abbeys, serenaded us with fun
mashups of Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears while Boston College's Irish Step Dance Team
showed off some serious leaps.

Of course this Lilly was my favorite look of the night!;-) And paired with
Sperrys, too cute!

US Trendy helped contribue a lot of clothes for the event including Windsor's gorgeous dress.
Lucky me, I  actually heard the founder speak at a fashion club event at our school! His story is also very inspiring to all young entrepreneurs out there!

With live tweeting and hashtagging going on, everyone had chances to win awesome prizes!
But even if you didn't win like me, everyone got to go home that with an awesome swag bag.
