Las Olas in Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Last weekend, my parents and I took a trip down to Las Olas Boulevard in Ft. Lauderdale near the beach. We used to go quite frequently and it's easy to forget how cool it is.
Las Olas (or "The Waves" in Spanish) has numerous fun restaurants, clubs, art galleries, and shops.
It was originally just a dirt road in the early 1900s, but was renovated in the '80s to become a hip downtown entertainment area with expensive real estate and waterfront homes where water taxis even take people around the canals to view celebrity homes.

While in Las Olas, we first stopped to dine at the restaurant, YOLO, which is now one of my favorite restaurants!

My cedar plank salmon was delicious, but the pumpkin cheesecake
and bread pudding is what really won me over!

After dinner we then went to go drive around Ft. Lauderdale Beach which is a quick 10 minute drive.
Ft. Lauderdale Beach has always been a popular tourist spot, especially during Spring Break! There are always interesting people walking around, it's great if you like to people watch.

We then drove down to the Inter-coastal Waterway to view some of the boats.
Interestingly enough, Ft. Lauderdale has more canals than Venice!

I actually borrowed this necklace from my mom... still trying to convince her I need this.

I decided this trip called for the Lilly Pulitzer shift I just bought!

I decided to wear my J. Crew shocking pink Mari sandals again. I am going to miss these sandals and summer weather SO much come fall and winter!

There are so many beautiful, large homes with private boats in Las Olas' canals.

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer | Sandals: J. Crew | Necklace: Macy's | Clutch: Coach

It was a truly beautiful summer day in Florida I will surely miss once I leave in 1 1/2 weeks for Boston (eek!)
I couldn't have asked for a better dress on this day though...
Bows? Pink and Green? Scallop Edge? Pearls?
It is a preppy girl's dream dress.

And at last I technically got to go to the beach even though I didn't go in the water... getting close to finishing up the list!
