Advice For The College Tyro's First Day of Class!

College move in day is right around the corner! Now is the time to start getting prepared for that first day of class. You definitely don't want to start college off on the wrong foot with the wrong impressions. Stand out for the right reasons by being prepared for your first day of classes in college.

1. Email your teachers about accurate textbook lists and supplies.
Some teachers require books on the first day!

2. Get an agenda so you can write down assignments you will most likely
be given on the first day! Better to start off organized!

3. Check to see if you have any summer reading or homework assignments. If you don't, keep up your by reading. Check out my Summer Reading list!

4. Look up your professors on Rate My Professor to get some student-peer input on what your professors' expectations are. (And cross your fingers you picked the good ones!)

5. Look over old notes from your high school classes.
Time to start looking over those old French notes!

6. Print out your class schedule and a school map.
You don't want to be late on your first day of class!

7. Keep up on your writing skills by writing in a journal, blogging, or even applying early for club positions or jobs. Writing is one of the main skills you will need for every subject whether it is research papers or creative writing. I love this notebook for jotting down rough draft ideas for reports.
