DIY Gold Painted Mugs inspired by Kate Spade, Paris, & Monograms!

One of my favorite things to do on rainy days is get crafty.
There is nothing better than getting out the glitter, scrapbook paper, or glue sticks and get my creative juices flowing.
Yesterday was a particularly rainy day, so I decided to tackle my first DIY project-
gold painted mugs inspired by Kate Spade, monograms, and Paris!
And my, they turned out utterly fabulous!

How Kate Spade is this bow plate too, right?!

After looking through different ideas on Pinterest,
I settled on a Sharpie Permanent Gold Paint Marker and two new
white mugs (that are microwavable safe) from Ikea for only about $2 each.

On a clean mug, I drew the polka dots on the mug and then baked at 300 degrees Fahrenheit to help let the gold paint "set".
Wait 30 minutes and, viola! You have your own Kate Spade gold confetti mug!

For the Eiffel Tower and Monogram designs, I did these by freehand, but first sketched them out with a pencil to make sure they were centered. There isn't really a trick to doing these, but I'm sure
you could create, print, and cut out a template for any design you want and even for the polka dots as well.

I am absolutely in love with how they turned out!
They are so adorable and for very little money and time!
These would make great gifts as well!
