Chagrin Falls

Chagrin Falls located in Cuyahoga County about 40 minutes outside Cleveland, Ohio is known for its cute and quaint little shops, history, and topography. Waterfalls, antique shops, art galleries, and many restaurants line the streets in the center of the village where I ate Jeni's ice cream, picked up some delicious gourmet cupcakes, and even shopped at a monogram store (I'll post more about that later!)

Chagrin Falls was created in 1833 as part of the Connecticut Western Reserve like Hudson and due to its river and waterfalls, it became an industrial and commercial area. In 1842, the river had nine mills and by 1844 it became an established village with neighboring farmers. Today, the village is home to about 4,00 residents and most of its original architecture that has been preserved and restored in its Greek Revival, Italianate style, and Colonial Revival. Many are even on the National Register's list of historic places in the United States.

Many of the shops in the center of Chagrin have great little unique gifts for people of all interests!
